Created in 1985, the CMQ’s focus is to support the competitiveness of metallurgy industry through research and development and a collaborative approach with public and private sector partners, while promoting college-level technical training and knowledge transfer to businesses.
The centre's 45-person team focuses on applied research and technology transfer to support the growth of metal processing companies. In addition to providing cutting-edge training in the metallurgical field and non destructive testing, the CMQ offers a range of professional services to companies following the latest technological advances in aluminum processing, additive manufacturing, metal shaping, advanced alloys, powder metallurgy, corrosion, metal protection, non-destructive testing, welding and modeling. The CMQ offers more than $25 million in research infrastructure.
