The mission of the non-profit organization Coalia is to support and provide services to Québec companies and organizations in the mineral technology and plastics sectors. It carries out applied research, technical assistance, training and information for both sectors.

Services offered at Coalia include formulation development, implementation and manufacturing processes, material processing and characterization, and product design assistance. Coalia also provides services in the mineral sector that include tests and trials for preparation, crushing, separation, classification, characterization and analysis of minerals and aggregates. Coalia supports the manufacture of high value-added products (sand tests, whiteness tests, hardness, quality control).
